The Overtown Children and Youth Coalition is excited to be providing ACT/SAT Prep Courses at a discounted rate via the OCYC Learning Portal, through a partnership with Kaplan Test Prep. This ongoing initiative provides an opportunity for students to prepare for post secondary education, by enabling students with the opportunity to have access to test prep materials that may not traditionally be available within their community. Thus, leveling the playing field for all students to perform at their best potential, no matter their social-economic status.
This program is also available to past High School Students who are interested in studying for the SAT/ACT as their concordant score to fulfill needed High School Graduation requirements.
The cost of the course is $30 per user for 6 months of access to the study material.
Although there is a cost, OCYC does not want money to be an inhibiting factor for participation. Those needing financial support can make this need known on the form below.
*Please note that this prep course is not the SAT/ACT Test. Students must apply for the SAT/ACT Test through the College Board website. A link for these websites has been provided to ease with the test registration process.
- It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that students complete registration to take their exam within the next 60-90days, or when comfortable.

However, progress will be tracked by program staff. Followup meetings/ will be held with those students/parents who stop participating.
- Students are required to determine which test he/she will be studying for ACT or SAT Not sure which one to take? GOOGLE IT. There are lots of information and cool diagnostic tools available online to help you make the best decision.
- Participating students will be asked to share their scores, along with testimonials of how well they benefited from the program.
How and When will I get access to the course?
There is a minimum 10 participant requirement. This means that registration will be open through January 22nd, 2021, for our first cohort of students, with access expected to begin on January 30th. So, Hurry up and Sign up!!!
Students will receive their login credentials directly via email from Kaplan Test Prep. by January 30th, 2021. Make sure to include the email that you always. Following the emails being sent, a staff member will contact each student to ensure they were able to login successfully and answer any questions.
